The Sea3D team, led by Nicole Gislason, will host a 1-hour overview of additive manufacturing. Participants will gain insight into the applications and processes involved in prototyping and printing products. Sea3D, launched as part of the UWF Innovation Network, serves as a hub for multidisciplinary research, invention and discovery in the high-demand field of additive manufacturing, providing a space for real-world problems to be transformed into creative solutions. Housing state-of-the-art additive manufacturing equipment, the Sea3D lab provides a space for students, business leaders and community members to collaborate on the creation and printing of 3D products. Leisure Learning participants will meet talented UWF student technicians as UWF Sea3D provides local STEM college students work experience in their field. The program supports internships to enhance their mastery of science in 3D modeling and additive manufacturing, develop our graduates systematic thinking about engineering challenges, increase interns' understanding of the complexity of working with industry, and develop their practical skills while nurturing collaborations with colleagues (teamwork).
