Fun, Fast-paced and fascinating, this tour provides the best historic overview of Pensacola. Learn some unique beach stories on Pensacola Beach. Drive by a few landmarks and hear “the rest of the story.” As the bus travels through Gulf Breeze, you will hear how these residents used to swear they saw UFOs. The trip over the 3 mile bridge is eventful as we learn about shipwrecks, sharks and villains. Visit the Wall South and other monuments dedicated to Pensacola’s service members at Veterans Memorial Park. In Aragon and Seville areas, we will go by a haunted house, see where General Jackson’s army in 1814 surprised Spanish and British forces and drive by the oldest home and cemetery in town. Outside Seville, see the longest operating business in Florida, Dr. Martin Luther King Plaza and tour the site where the British lost the Battle of Pensacola in 1781. Back aboard the bus, travel to the city’s only Confederate Soldiers Monument, pass by the oldest Catholic church and down one of the “Top 10 Streets” of America — South Palafox. Our ultimate destination will be the Historic Pensacola Village, a period 19th century village with several museums that encompass thousands of square footage of space. Important: We will meet at 12 p.m. for (Dutch-treat) lunch at Cottage Cafe. At 1 p.m., the Go Retro bus will pick us up at Cottage Cafe and begin the Historic Pensacola Tour.
