Intensive Lesson 7 Applying Five Components of Reading
Course Objectives:
- Choose oral language strategies and develop lesson plans that support oral language acquisition.
- Create lesson plans to teach vocabulary words and promote development of oral language.
- Utilize word walls to support student learning and formative assessment.
- Incorporate KWL Charts to support student comprehension.
- Develop a unit of instruction with multiple instructional tasks for gathering information from a variety of sources.
- Field Experience: Teach two lesson plans that incorporate oral language strategies.
- Field Experience: Evaluate 5 students to determine words correct per minute, graph results, and determine conclusions from data.
- Field Experience: Teach a lesson plan for vocabulary words that promotes development of oral language.
- Field Experience: Teach a lesson utilizing the KWL Chart for supporting student comprehension.
