Overview: The CompTIA™ A+ Certification is a critical first step in opening the door to your IT career. Throughout this program, you will learn the essential skills needed to start a career working within the industry.

CompTIA™ A+ Certification is vendor neutral and internationally recognized, giving you a competitive advantage no matter what country you're working in and what hardware you're working with.

Upon completion of the program, you will need to purchase vouchers to take two CompTIA™ certifying exams.

What Will I Learn? Throughout this program, you'll study the fundamentals of information technology, including hardware and PC support. You'll build practical job skills that enable you to install, maintain, and troubleshoot devices, as well as establish a foundation of security knowledge and customer service skills.

Along with learning the fundamentals, you'll study network installation and configuration, as well as network security and the basics of excelling as an entry-level IT technician.

To gain further understanding, you will be able to practice the concepts being taught, using interactive virtual software.

Registration Information Request

Details: This program will prepare you for CompTIA A+ certification. You can earn this certification after you pass two exams. The CompTIA A+ Certification Exam 220-801, covers the foundational hardware knowledge a PC support technician should know. The CompTIA A+ Certification Exam 220-802 covers the operating system, virtualization, mobile device management and hardware troubleshooting skills. Upon successful completion of this program, you will receive exam vouchers for both 220-801 and 220-802 at no additional cost.

CT-007 CompTIA A+ Exam 220-801: This part of the program prepares you for the CompTIA 220-801 certification exam and builds practical job skills for computer hardware and operating systems. These skills include the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of common devices such as desktops, laptops, network and wireless devices, printers, and monitors. You’ll master the installation and troubleshooting of common components such as CPUs, memory, disks, power supplies, and expansion cards, as well as gain valuable practical knowledge of security concepts, customer service, and business processes.

CT-007 CompTIA A+ Exam 220-802: This section of the program will prepare you for the CompTIA 220-802 exam. You will learn to install, configure, and troubleshoot networks, troubleshoot security, configure and manage a virtualized environment, manage mobile devices and troubleshoot hardware. These are the skills expected of an entry-level IT technician who will have a high level of interaction with clients.

Upon registering, you're given an initial six months to complete this program. Should you need more time beyond the six months, an extension of three months is available with a fee of $225.

Requirements: This program is compatible with the Windows XP and later operating systems and IE 7 and later browsers. This program can be taken on either a Mac or a PC. You'll need to have e-mail capabilities. Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Acrobat Reader are required for this course. Note: All elements, except the Online Lab System, are available on Mac computers. Instructors will assist students in setting up a home virtual lab system. You will receive a copy of CompTIA A+ Complete Study Guide: Exams 220-801 and 220-802, Sybex upon registration.

Prerequisites: To enroll in this program, you should have basic knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems—for example, how to power up and log on to a machine, how to use a mouse and keyboard, and basic Microsoft Windows navigation skills.

This program is for you if you're interested in pursuing a career in information technology, specifically related to PC technology. This program will prepare you obtain a CompTIA A+ Certification designation. After completing the program, you're encouraged to set up your own exam dates and times at a testing center close to you. An exam voucher is included in the cost of tuition.
