Essential Python Scripting for GIS (Spring 2018)

Python is the scripting language of choice for the ArcGIS platform. This course introduces fundamental Python concepts and the Python scripting environment in ArcGIS. Tips and techniques to help you master proper Python syntax, script flow, and error handling will also be presented.

At the end of this course students will be able to:
1 - Recall basic concepts of the Python programming language
2 - Demonstrate the ability to write and modify Python scripts
3 - Recognize common types of errors that can occur in a script.
4 - Apply several methods for debugging and solving errors in Python Script.
5 - Identify ways to use Python within ArcGIS for Desktop to maximize workflow efficiency.
