A Chinese martial art dating back some 600 years, Tai Chi today is a popular exercise program in which almost anyone can participate. Tai Chi consists of gentle, fluid movements that are relaxed and slow in tempo, leading some to call it “meditation in motion.” Tai Chi has a multitude of health and wellness benefits including muscle strengthening, cardiovascular fitness, joint flexibility, and improvement in balance, posture, and concentration (memory). It has also been found to reduce stress and blood pressure, and best of all, it’s fun to do!

The Confucius Institute is hosting a new Tai Chi class for students, faculty, and staff. We welcome all participants to join our class!

Come experience the beautiful and calming martial art of Tai Chi, and expand your knowledge of its origin in ancient Chinese culture thousands of years ago in the Zhou Dynasty.
