A grim future awaits Europe - its native population is shrinking. The low birthrate dooms European countries to declining populations and an aging crises unless they open the floodgates to immigration. If present trends continue, Europe’s population could be halved by the next century. What about the U.S.? Can it escape a demographic suicide? In this class, we will examine birthrates in various countries and their implications. We will extend the discussion to cover the implication of declining European populations as well as the problems associated with mass immigration from the Middle East, Africa and Asia. It is properly said, "Demography is destiny." (Demography = Science of population dynamics). As goes the population, so goes the nation. This is a continuation of “Death of Europe I”, offered during Fall 2017. All participants are welcome, old and new. Bring your questions and comments.
