Keys to Enjoying and Appreciating Red Wine*

ID : 54722
« back to classes page
Explore the wine countries of Europe and our own West Coast wine country. The taste of wine depends on weather, landscape, soil and the type of wood used to store it and for how long it is aged. Damp earth, worn leather, and rich currant are sometimes used to describe the complex attributes of a good red wine. Join us as we discuss how growth, fermentation, and storage contribute to the wine being peppery, robust and smokey to delicate, smooth and fruity. New world versus old world vines as well as different kinds of grapes will be discussed. Savory and sweet hors d’oeuvres will be paired with each tasting. Salute! *Not available on the all-inclusive Unlimited Classes option.
