White wines are known to have a range of flavors from intensely floral, citrus and herbal to toasted almonds, buttery baked pears and mango. Taste and compare a voluptuous Chardonnay, a snappy Sauvignon Blanc and a sweet, velvety Riesling. Become familiar with the various characteristics that make each one unique. This class will first discuss the German wine region Mosel, which is a microcosm of all of Germany’s wine making, and the impact that history played with the swarm of aphids that destroyed the European crops. Next is the region of France named Burgandy, and a discussion of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Arigote grapes. The class will conclude with some of the best wines on earth from our own California and Washington state vineyards. Savory and sweet appetizers served with each wine tasting. Salute! *Not available on the all-inclusive Unlimited Classes option.
