ID : 54732
« back to classes page
Live Green! The ECUA Compost Facility tour starts with a 30-minute presentation on why composting operations began and how the process works. The group will then drive to the Compost facility for a walking tour and discussion of the plant equipment and learn how the composting process combines ground yard waste (leaves, grass, pine straw, etc.) with biosolids to create an optimal blend of materials that generate a nutrient-rich final product, bloom—the most in bio-compost. The walking tour lasts approximately one hour. Important: participants are required to wear low heeled, closed-toe shoes. Sign up soon; limited seating available!
