This course is designed to prepare students to successfully pass the National Healthcareer Association exam and directly enter the exciting field of medical assisting. Our program includes a well-blended mix of classroom, audio-visual presentation and hands-on experience at local doctors offices. Instruction is provided by experienced, medical assistants who are current practitioners in the field of Medicine.
The Clinical Medical Assistant Certification program offers our students both theoretical and practical training through hands-on experience. The duration of the course is sixteen (16) weeks and includes preparation necessary to pass the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant examination and provides the skills necessary to become an entry level medical assistant. In addition to 96 hours in the classroom, and homework study time, our students are eligible to complete an 80 clock-hour externship experience. The externship serves as working experience, as well as a reference for future employment. Students are also eligible to take exams to have certifications as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and EKG Technician (CET) after the course is complete.
The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled healthcare practitioner who is competent in both clinical and administrative procedures:
• Interview patients
• Measure and record vital signs
• Prepare exam rooms
• Clean and sterilize medical equipment
• Administer injections, as well as topical or oral medications
• Perform venipuncture and point-of-care testing
The program fee includes all live instruction, labs, scrub set and all materials to include 3 certification exams (if taken) and an externship.
