Valerie Peacock, Curator of Education at the Pensacola Museum of Art, is a UWF graduate eager to welcome our Leisure Learning group. Tour inside the Spanish Revival Style building which opened as a jail in 1906. The Pensacola Art Association took over the building in 1954 as a place for lectures, traveling exhibitions and a space for art classes. In 1982, the Pensacola Museum of Art took over the space and then purchased the building in 1988. The building now belongs to UWF and the PMA presents engaging exhibitions and educational programs and stewards a growing collection of modern and contemporary art of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Valerie will lead the tour through the three exhibits showing at the time of our visit and will also tell us about the educational trunks which are taken into schools. She will answer questions as she shares her expertise with us. *Not available on the all-inclusive Unlimited Classes option.
