« back to classes page
Guardian ad Litem is a state agency Whose goal is to have a volunteer force working to advocate for children in the Dependency Court System. Over 1500 children in the lst Judicial circuit have been abused, abandoned or neglected and need a voice in the court system. Our advocates come from all walks of life and are partnered with a social worker and an attorney, with the primary goal of meeting with a child or family of children once a month and writing a report for the court! Our advocates' only interest is the child's best interest. Learn more about this program and how you can make a difference in an at-risk child's life. Joan Irby, volunteer recruiter for the lst Judicial Circuit, will share with us the needs of these helpless children.
