System Administration and Scripting

This course serves as an introductory course in system administration and scripting. The course emphasizes the understanding of computer system concepts, the use of basic and advanced command tools, file and user account management, system security, resource management, performance monitoring and optimization, system troubleshooting, job and process monitoring and network connectivity. Windows PowerShell and Linux bash scripting will also be covered to enable automated and efficient system administration

The course is divided into learning modules. Each module includes a lecture component and a discussion segment or hands-on exercises as appropriate. The course will culminate with application of lessons learned on one or two case scenarios.
