The U.S. Department of State has a public diplomacy program where opinion-makers from across the globe travel around the country to meet professionals and ordinary citizens of the USA. It’s called the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Jena oversees a large number of groups each year who visit Pensacola to see how things are done here. For example, a group of search and rescue volunteers from the north woods of Russia came to see our S&R and Emergency Management operations. At the same time, Jena and her staff hosted a group of young women from a range of countries, here to examine technology and robotics and various aspects of engineering. Because part of the agenda is to meet and socialize with ordinary Americans, these groups often stay with host families. Join us to learn more about this great program.
