"La Dolce Prospettiva”:  Art lovers around the globe recognize that one-point perspective originated in Renaissance Italy.  But few of them are probably familiar with the logic behind the process, or know the surprising source of its inspiration. In this presentation, Dr. Suzette Doyon reveals the how and the why, for a fuller understanding of the impact of Brunelleschi’s “Sweet Perspective” on our present view of the physical world. Dr Doyon notes Vasari records that an early practitioner of perspective, Uccello, told his nagging wife one evening that “‘La Dolce Prospettiva’ was a far sweeter mistress than she was!" Let's find out why.
