Richmond, Virginia was not only the Capital of the Confederacy, it also produced guns, bullets and shells large and small. The components of Richmond’s arms production industry include the Tredegar Ironworks, Artillery as well as amour plating for ships; The Richmond Arsenal, Muskets; The Confederate States Laboratory Department, munitions. Their contributions would enable the Confederacy to arm its soldiers and conduct four bloody years of war.
